F&D offers three types of high performance coatings that are available for any tool in our catalog.

AlTiN has the highest temperature resistance of any of the available coatings. It is the best choice for dry machining, machining titanium alloys, inconel, stainless alloys and cast iron

TiN is a general purpose coating for better tool life when machining Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Inconel

TiCN is superior to TiN when machining stainless steels, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials. It is also an excellent choice when machining die and mold steels.

ZrN is the best choice for machining nonferrous materials and plastic

Amorphous Diamond is the best choice for machining graphite and aluminum materials. This coating offers a very smooth surface which allows finer finishes and increased tool life.

TiALN is the superior choice when dry milling. High performance is also realized when machining hardened steels such as Titanium Alloys, Cast Iron, and Stainless Steels.
